The Project EcoFashionEU – Promoting the sustainability of small and medium textile and fashion manufacturers” aims at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in the textile and fashion industry, to adopt sustainable and circular practices, in accordance with the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles.

The project’s specific objectives are:

  • To build the capacities and knowledge of SMEs in the fashion sector so that they are equipped to adopt sustainable practices in their business and production models,
  • To offer to SMEs in the fashion sector relevant support and evaluation services throughout the process,
  • To enhance multi-actor cooperation between NGOs in the field, SMEs and local authorities,
  • To raise the awareness of all relevant target groups through intensive promotion and dissemination activities,
  • To support the environmental and economic sustainability of SMEs in the fashion sector through the adoption of slow and ethical fashion business models.

The project’s main actions are:

  • Identifying the challenges and needs of the partner SMEs
  • Identifying best practices in EU level        
  • Organizing workshops with stakeholders in order to draft a policy recommendations report
  • Advisory services for the SMEs
  • Development of a training program for SMEs in fashion tailored to their needs
  • Development of a toolkit for trainers, targeting CSOs/NGOs in order to ensure the transferability of the project deliverable to more contexts
  • Dissemination activities and events in European and national level
